our design philosophy
At the heart of what we do is a simple belief: your space should feel like you. We love guiding our clients to uncover their personal style and bringing it to life in environments that are both beautiful and deeply supportive.
Our approach goes beyond design—we take the time to understand how colors, textures, and patterns affect your mood, energy, and overall well-being. These subtle details make all the difference, creating spaces that feel peaceful, inspiring, and tailored to your unique lifestyle.
Many people don’t realize how much their surroundings shape the way they live, work, and feel. The right environment can spark calm, boost focus, and invite joy into everyday life.
Whether it’s a home that nurtures or an office that motivates, we specialize in crafting spaces that are therapeutic, uplifting, and authentically yours.
About our owner/designerMiriam Upton Fulmer
Miriam Upton Fulmer (Mimi) has been designing spaces—and just about everything in them—for over 30 years. With degrees in Art & Design, Psychology, and Advertising from Columbia College and the University of South Carolina, plus a degree in Ministry from Sewanee, she brings a unique mix of creativity, people insight, and heart to everything she does.
She got her start in retail and interior design, doing everything from staging and wardrobe styling to creating eye-catching window displays. That experience opened the door to a broader world of design, and before long, she launched her own business focusing on space planning, retail layouts, and home design.
Mimi’s work took a meaningful turn when she began partnering with hospitals to create calming, healing environments using color and imagery. From ceilings that bring the outdoors in, to walls that help patients feel more at ease, her designs have supported recovery and well-being in powerful ways.
That same thoughtful approach caught the eye of corporate clients, too—companies looking to make their offices more functional, inspiring, and aligned with how their teams actually work. Whether the goal was better focus, more relaxation, or improved collaboration, Mimi’s designs helped make it happen.
Today, her creative scope extends far beyond interiors. Her services include tile and material selection, floral design, event styling, custom gift wrapping, wallpaper and fabric design, and a series of seasonal workshops inspired by The Artist’s Way and the rhythms of life.
She rebranded her business as The Miriad Source—a name that reflects the wide-ranging and holistic nature of her design work.
At the core of everything she creates is a passion for color, texture, spatial planning, balance, and beauty—always grounded in the principle that function and form must go hand in hand to create meaningful, livable spaces
